Glencraig Lass was designed in memory of Mary Anne McCormack Robertson who hailed from Glencraig, a small mining village in Fife.

Glencraig means "Meadow Of The Rock". The village originated around the 1830's but not until the sinking of the Glencraig Pit did the village expand.
